Focal points - It is very important, that you identify the focal point of your bathroom before you go ahead with choosing any colors. Your focal point could be the tiles, the vessel sink or whichever item in your bathroom you feel could be the "star" of the room. You must then bear in mind that whichever color scheme you choose, must not ruin the effect or overshadow your focal point. For example, if you focal point is a European-style bright blue colored vessel sink, then all the other colors you choose must serve as a background to the sink. Otherwise, you will have a room that looks "too busy" and you lose the whole effect.
If you are thinking of a fresh coat of bathroom paint because of problems such as mildew, mold or peeling paint, then you must first and foremost remove the peeling paint using sandpaper. You can kill the mildew or mold with a mixture of water and bleach. You must wash the entire bathroom with mild soap before starting on a painting job. Care should be taken to ensure that the bathroom surfaces are totally free of moisture before applying the paint.
